Blogger's Kapihan
No amount of distraction kept me from listening to the words spoken by the three guests invited to talk about blogging in the recently held Blogger's Kapihan (actually this is the first, I think and by recently I mean to say uhmm.. an hour ago), not even the awful noises my friend's nose is making and the irritating presence of an ever-roving camera. The ever-present hikabs were there but its natural. It only proves my ardent passion to listen. Science already proved that yawning means that though the body wants to retire already, the mind revolts and still wants to stay awake. I came as one of the five representatives of Ang Lagablab, Ang Opisyal Na Pahayagan ng Mataas na Paaralan ng Pilipinas SA Agham. Substitute lang ako kasi di makakapunta yung isa. Thank you Eda :) Anyway, the forum was fun and meaningful, especially for someone like me who only thinks of blogs as stuffs to kalikot tuwing walang magawa.
Ngayon tuloy, gusto ko nang ayusin ang blog entries ko, to think na this blog actually used to be a school requirement. Yes, nagre-require ng blog sa Pisay! ComSci 3 used to be divided into four subcourses: Object-Oriented Programming, Web Development, and Networking. Last year I belonged to one of the two sections who take up the Web Dev thing. Three sections each did OOP and Networking. I felt so lucky then, knowing how easy Web Dev was compared to OOP and Networking. The hardest part then was to consistently post some entry in my blog (five a week). I found it difficult when it started since I'm not really a Net person. But after a few weeks I enjoyed blogging though I usually posted useless stuffs. ComSci classes generally meant blog-posting time then. And that was when blogging began to be part of my to-do-list every time I go online. It used to be just research, contact (my cellphone's stupid), and play. Then blogging came.
The talks were great. My favorite speaker was the Abe guy. Kaulo niya si Sir Arghs. Pero never have I thought of blogging as a means of earning money before. Blogging for me is just a form of self-expression. And ngayon, di pa rin ako convinced of turning my blog into an advertisement page for stuffs. The numbers were great, yes, but I just hate the thought of making my personal page a page for ads and those stuffs. I have nothing against those who do ha. It's just not my style to do that period.
The questions asked were good ones, except the one asked by Jejo. Sori. Galing nung 06 na nagtanong, ang galing niyang mag-Tagalog. And his question was a good one, too. Nakakatuwa rin yung speakers. The organizers' choice was good. Medyo nagulat lang ako sa intro ni Mr. Manolo Quezon. But I thought about it and may point siya. Siguro nga.
I'm just glad I didn't dare to ask a question. I hate the prize. I'm pro-ABS e. Sori ulit. Hindi ko run natikman yung kape. Siksikan e. I took pictures for Lagablab and mukhang matino naman. Actually, gusto kong gumawa ng article about this since nasa posisyon naman ako to do so, kaso baka di pumayag. Tsaka sa news na ata ito.
All in all, maganda yung talk. Thanks to Aksis and the sponsors. Tsaka sa organizers and speakers. It provided the audiences insight on the potentials of blogging and what it really means. Next tme, aayusin ko na posts ko. Pramis. Maybe I'll start talking about politics and how sex is related with everything. Abangan niyo na lang ang libel case ko :)
